Dr. Harina Thyriar, OD, always had a fascination with everything “EYES” and, over 20 years ago, she made her career debut in the optical field. Her fascination soon ignited a PASSION for OPTOMETRY. She had a “calling” which she fervently embraced and pursued.
Now, she has finally fulfilled her VISION to open her own full-service, AI technology Optometry Clinic and upscale eyewear boutique showroom in Montréal. She is the HEAD OPTOMETRIST and President of HARINA Optométristes, a stunning, state-of-the-art SITE for SIGHT, centrally located at Rockland Centre
In 2012, Dr. Harina Thyriar, OD, fulfilled a lifetime dream, obtaining her Doctorate in Optometry from the Université de Montréal. She has also completed the Optometry Examining Board of Canada (OEBC) exam as well as her residency in ocular health at the Institut de l’œil des Laurentides. Dr. Harina Thyriar, OD, also holds a B.Sc. in Microbiology and Immunology to add to her academic qualifications.
Her passion for eye health innovation increased as her education continued with the completion of an externship at LASIK MD. She didn’t stop there. Next, she completed a U.S. externship at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA Syracuse Medial Center) in New York. While treating the veterans, Dr. Harina Thyriar, OD, worked hand-in-hand with leading ophthalmologists to effectively treat a wide range of vision-related issues caused by military related injuries. The experience was invaluable, and she received the highest accolades for what was deemed her OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS.
Dr. Harina Thyriar, OD’s passion for eye care research and innovation is insatiable. Banque Nationale du Canada gave recognition to her work with a coveted AWARD for BEST CLINICAL RESEARCH. She continues to make her presence known worldwide by attending countless conferences and seminars in Canada, the United States and abroad.
